We present a new statistical physics-based characterization of the satisfiability problem. Specifically, we design an algorithm that is able to produce graphs starting from a k-SAT instance, in order to analyze them and show whether a Bose–Einstein condensation occurs. We observe that, analogously to complex networks, the networks of k-SAT instances follow Bose statistics and can undergo Bose–Einstein condensation. In particular, k-SAT instances move from a fit-get-rich network to a winner-takes-all network as the ratio of clauses to variables decreases, and the phase transition of k-SAT approximates the critical temperature for the Bose–Einstein condensation. Finally, we employ the fitness-based classification to enhance SAT solvers (e.g., ChainSAT) and obtain the consistently highest performing SAT solver for CNF formulas, and therefore a new class of efficient hardware and software verification tools. 2012 Elsevier B.V. متن کاملSolitons for nearly integrable bright spinor Bose-Einstein condensate
Using the explicit forms of eigenstates for linearized operator related to a matrix version of Nonlinear Schrödinger equation, soliton perturbation theory is developed for the $F=1$ bright spinor Bose-Einstein condensates. A small disturbance of the integrability condition can be considered as a small correction to the integrable equation. By choosing appropriate perturbation, the soli...
متن کاملSimple criterion for the occurrence of Bose-Einstein condensation
We examine the occurrence of Bose-Einstein condensation in both nonrelativistic and relativistic systems with no self-interactions in a general setting. A simple condition for the occurrence of Bose-Einstein condensation can be given if we adopt generalized ζ-functions to define the quantum theory. We show that the crucial feature governing Bose-Einstein condensation is the dimension q associat...

Metastable triplet helium is an interesting atom, next to the alkalis and atomic hydrogen, to pursue Bose–Einstein condensation. In this paper an overview of the relevant physics of triplet helium and experimental progress in Amsterdam towards reaching Bose– Einstein condensation is described. 2001 Académie des sciences/Éditions scientifiques et médicales Elsevier SAS cold atoms / metastable ...
متن کاملMaxwell-Boltzmann and Bose-Einstein Distributions for the SAT Problem
Recent studies in theoretical computer science have exploited new algorithms and methodologies based on statistical physics for investigating the structure and the properties of the Satisfiability problem. We propose a characterization of the SAT problem as a physical system, using both quantum and classical statistical-physical models. We associate a graph to a SAT instance and we prove that a...
